Physical and Handling Properties

Density and viscosity influence storage, heating, pumping, transfer, and blending. Buyers should state test temperature, units, methods, and any operational limitations.

Composition and Quality

Sulfur, water, sediment, ash, carbon residue, metals, flash point, pour point, and other parameters may matter according to use. Not every parameter applies equally to every application.

Sampling and Testing

Agree the sampling point, test methods, laboratory, inspection company, certificate issuer, acceptance criteria, retained samples, and treatment of out-of-specification results.
