Product Insight

Fuel Oil specifications should reflect the operating requirement.

The term Fuel Oil can describe materially different products. Equipment compatibility, applicable regulation, intended use, and the full parameter set must be reviewed before supply.

Viscosity and Temperature

Viscosity affects pumping, atomization, heating, transfer, and combustion. A value is meaningful only with its unit, test temperature, and method.

Sulfur and Environmental Requirements

Sulfur limits may be governed by buyer specification, equipment, local regulation, or marine requirements. The buyer is responsible for identifying the applicable legal and operational limit.

Safety and Quality Parameters

Density, flash point, pour point, water, sediment, ash, carbon residue, calorific value, and other characteristics may be relevant. Required limits and test methods should be explicit.

Delivery and Storage

Road tanker, ISO tank, terminal transfer, or bulk marine delivery depends on volume, route, storage, heating, pumping, and receiving capability.

Inspection and Documents

Sampling, testing, quantity verification, quality documentation, origin records, transport documents, and independent inspection should be defined according to contract.

RFQ Checklist

Provide the complete specification, intended application, estimated quantity, destination, Incoterm, delivery period, regulatory requirements, storage details, and inspection needs.
